How to Achieve Great Design?
A great design can be defined in many different ways. It might be very pleasing to our eyes, it might be simple yet efficient, it might be able to communicate effectively, it might solve problems or, it might just fulfill all these criteria. Achieving great design is not an easy task and how to achieve a great design cannot be described with just one article.
Designs have Life
While starting out in any design process, we should think a design as a human. A human who has a story, who has a style, who has an identity and a purpose to fulfill. In this way, we have the strength to provide a character and a vibe to that particular design. In other words, it should represent a formal embodiment of spirit and intelligence. In this way, it can communicate, not only to the minds, but also, to the hearts of the people. All these elements will bring life to that particular design. However, failing to do so, it would just be a lifeless tool. It might serve its purpose but it wouldn’t achieve a meaningful identity and hence, it would be an injustice to the design.
In order to achieve a great design we must respect the idea of design itself. We must respect the process as well as the purpose it has to fulfill. As I said, achieving great design is a very difficult task, but giving it a life can make it a lot easier.
